Markel: "Building To Win"

From “Markel: Course Correct” (June 2025): “It has been a challenging few years for Markel, which has culminated in activist pressure from JANA Partners and an internal review of the company’s structure… With that said, I personally walked away from this update with an extra dose of optimism. The primary reason is the changes underway in the Insurance business, which I view as reflective of a company and management team that will respond when the facts tell them to do so. They are not shying away from their missteps, which is a critical move towards correcting them. I suspect that they will do just that over the coming years under Simon Wilson’s leadership.”
