On Thursday, September 25th, I’ll be hosting a live webinar with Sarah Hoffman, Director of AI Research at AlphaSense, to discuss how AI is reshaping the investment research process - how the technology evolved over the past decade, where we’re at today, and where it’s heading next.
We’ll explore how AI is not only streamlining workflows, but also broadening the scope of questions that investors can answer quickly and accurately.
Participants will gain practical insight into how generative AI can be applied in equity research, as well as a forward-looking perspective on capabilities like AI agents that should proactively enhance the investment research process.
Earlier this year, when I outlined my partnership with AlphaSense, I spoke about how the platform was pushing me to rethink my research workflows:

Since then, that learning curve has continued. One standout for me has been the AlphaSense Deep Research tool, which lets me ask questions in natural language just as you would with ChatGPT, but with one key difference: the answers are grounded in high-quality, finance specific source material like expert call transcripts and company documents like Investor Day transcripts (sources that, in my experience, can be very difficult to uncover elsewhere).
Even with my learnings, I feel like I’m still scratching the surface.
As AI evolves into a more proactive research tool, the opportunity to enhance investment decision-making will only grow. I am excited to dig into all of this with Sarah next Thursday; we’ll discuss how we got here, what’s happening today, and what’s coming next from AI for investors and equities analysts.
