Portfolio Change - 02/03/2022
As you know, the portfolio shown to TSOH subscribers includes every dollar of investable assets that I have to my name outside of a checking account (for day to day expenses). However, I’m still in the accumulation phase of my financial life, and will likely (or at least hopefully) be a net saver for the next 20 or 30 years. As a result, I periodically accumulate cash in the checking account that I have no foreseeable need for; when that happens, I move the excess funds into my investment portfolio. This past weekend, I made a transfer from my checking account that resulted in a ~9% cash balance within my investment portfolio (ending value). This post will outline my plan for reallocating those funds, which I’ll do during tomorrow’s session. (For a more detailed discussion on structural vs tactical asset allocations, cash infusions, and market timing, please revisit "Mo' Money, Mo' Problems".)
The first chart below reflects the portfolio allocation before the deposit, while the second chart shows the portfolio allocation as of Wednesday’s close.
